Natalia Morales Rojas, San José, Costa Rica. Lives and works in Barcelona.
She studied Fine Arts with an emphasis on Environmental Design, at the National University of Costa Rica, an interdisciplinary career focused on architecture, the design of the internal space – eternal, scenography, window dressing and museography.
In 2014 she moved to Spain and settled in the city of Barcelona, she continued her studies at the University of Barcelona in the Master of Contemporary Artistic Creation, here she began hes research: “Urban Cartography: Conquest of a Global Geography”.
In 2015-2016, she participates in the On Mediation / 3 curatorial internship seminar, in Gallery Angels, directed by Ana Maria Guash, Martí Perán and the Group of Art, Globalization and Interculturality, (AGI), Faculty of History and Geography of the University of Barcelona.
Her experience in art acquires an interdisciplinary background, in her beginnings she directs participatory projects in rural areas of her native country Costa Rica, murals, educational projects of social integration, as well as urban regeneration through collective art with the Curridabat Foundation; Some of the most representative works in this line is «Displacement, encounter and coexistence», carried out in conjunction with the United Nations, UNHCR, San José City Council and the National University of Costa Rica in 2009, which was a collective project that claimed the rights of the refugees in Latin Americans in this country.
Since 2015, she has carried out a series of public art projects and participatory murals with the Rebobinart association, among them: «Everything that is essential is invisible to the eyes», in Passeige Felipe de Paz, in the Les Corts neighborhood, at side of the Camp Nou football stadium.
This will motivate her to maintain a constant interest in being involved in projects focused on cultural management and social participation. Later he will develop research on public art, geography, cartography and social sciences. She carries out different experimentations with variety techniques integrating digital media with traditional ones, photography, installation, video art, archive, performance, drawing, painting, etc., covering various alternatives within contemporary artistic practice, which makes her proposal acquires a commitment with the social environment by link between art, the city and society.
She has worked in the field of education, research and curating, also has collaborated in the management of artistic projects such as the First Latin American Biennial of Sculpture, International Festival of the Arts in Costa Rica. she currently manages public art and research projects, one of them «A line made by», a project of itinerant interventions in public space in which the territory is explored through mapping, promoting critical thinking and recovery of the autonomy of the territory, individual and its imaginary through performance, archive and video.

Realiza sus estudios en Bellas Artes con énfasis en Diseño Ambiental, en la Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica, una formación interdisciplinar orientada a la arquitectura el diseño del espacio interno – eterno, escenografía, escaparatismo y museografía.
En el 2014 se traslada a España y se establece en la ciudad de Barcelona, continúa sus estudios en la Universidad de Barcelona en el Máster de Creación Artística Contemporánea, aquí comienza su investigación: “Cartografía Urbana: Conquista de una Geografía Global”.
En 2015-2016, participa en el seminario de prácticas curatoriales On Mediation/3, en Galeria Angels ,dirigido por Ana Maria Guash, Martí Perán y el Grupo de Arte, Globalización e Interculturalidad,(AGI) , Facultad de Historia y geografía de la Universidad de Barcelona. Su experiencia en el arte adquiere un bagaje interdisciplinar, en sus inicios dirige proyectos participativos en las zonas rurales de su país natal Costa Rica, murales, proyectos educativos de integración social, así como regeneración urbana a través del arte colectivo junto con la Fundación de Curridabat; alguno de sus trabajos más representativos en esta linea es “Desplazamiento, Encuentro y Coexistencia”, realizado en conjunto con Naciones Unidas, ACNUR, Ayuntamiento de San José y la Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica en 2009.
Desde el 2015 realiza una serie de proyectos de arte público y murales participativos con la asociación Rebobinart, entre ellos: “Todo lo que es esencial , es invisible a los ojos”, en Passeige Felipe de Paz, en el barrio de Les Corts, al lado del estadio de fútbol Camp Nou.
Lo anterior la motivará a mantener un constante interés por la implicación en proyectos enfocados a la gestión cultural y participación social. Posteriormente desarrollará investigaciones sobre arte público, geografía, cartografía y ciencias sociales. Realiza distintas experimentaciones con diversas técnicas que integran los medios digitales con los tradicionales, fotografía, instalación, video arte, archivo, performance, dibujo, pintura, etc, abarcando diversas alternativas dentro de la práctica artística contemporánea, lo que hace que su obra adquiera un lenguaje visual que proyecta un vínculo entre el arte, la ciudad y la sociedad.
Ha trabajado en el ámbito de la educación, investigación y comisariado, así mismo ha colaborado en la gestión de proyectos artísticos como la I Bienal Latinoamericana de escultura, Festival Internacional de las Artes en Costa Rica. Actualmente gestiona proyectos de arte público e investigación, uno de ellos “ A line made by” , un proyecto de intervenciones itinerantes en el espacio público en el que se explora el territorio a través del cartografiado, promoviendo el pensamiento critico, la recuperación de la autonomía individual, del territorio y su imaginario mediante la performance , archivo y el video.
